If your prep time is limited, not all math chapters deserve equal attention. Here's what the pattern actually looks like.

Across recent years, three areas consistently account for the largest share of questions:

1. Calculus — limits, continuity, differentiability, application of derivatives, and integration together make up close to a third of the paper
2. Coordinate geometry — straight lines, circles, and conic sections
3. Algebra — complex numbers, quadratic equations, sequences and series

What this means for your schedule

If you're behind on prep, calculus is not the chapter to deprioritize — it's tested in more forms (definite integrals, differential equations, maxima/minima word problems) than almost anything else.

A common miscalculation

Students often over-invest in chapters that feel intellectually satisfying — like 3D geometry or vectors — because the problems are visually elegant, while under-investing in "boring" high-frequency chapters like sequences and series.

Track your own solved-question data by chapter. If you're spending 20% of your time on a chapter that's historically 5% of the paper, that's a signal to rebalance — not a reason to feel behind.
